Our four-year-old German Shepherd went blind over the winter into 2024. So thank you very much for the top 10 tips. She’s always been super hard to keep home and we don’t have a fence yard on the 14 acres we live on. We were just getting her to be good at staying home.
Now she runs around at night and even goes into the woods. We have a lighted collar on her and we keep a close eye on her, but we really are puzzled about how she can do the things she does
It seems like the sense of smell alone wouldn’t explain her abilities. She’ll move quickly right toward most obstacles and then turn at the last second.
She hides her treats in the yard and then she can find them even a couple days later.
Can anyone really explain how this is happening? Her skills are amazing. And the point about feelings is spot on, she’s just as happy as ever. Still loves the car, the woods and riding in anything with wheels.
