I found out today that my darling Yorkie is very much like the dog in this story. Because of high blood pressure, her retina detached, became infected, and now we may have to have the eye removed. We are at the “antibiotic” stage to see if the swelling and infection goes down. But the eye vet has indicated that we should prepare for the probability of removing her eye.
I cried and cried – she is my baby. She is an older dog, and has gone through some serious illnesses over the years, but recovered nicely. She is a trooper. Reading your article helped me understand some of the options, and gives me an idea what to expect – and from the pictures, I have to say that my vet was very accurate. He explained what would happen, and your pictures verify exactly what he described. Thank you for the information.
