Courtenay Good news! Java went for a yearly check up and the vet found the pressure in his eye to be normal. I am very relieved. Now my concern is that he has a sebacious cyst on his back that needs to be removed. I am trying to let it heal naturally as I don't mind that he has a bump on his back, however I don't want it to be an open sore and get infected. Have any of you dealt with this type of condition? I am trying to decide how to proceed. At least the one good eye is at a normal pressure. The moisture drops I put in each day may be helping.

Tracy Hi, I'm new to this site and new to this whole experience. My dog Hudson is a 2 year old Mastiff/Lab. He was just diagnosed with degenerating retinas. As of right now his daytime vision is fine and his night time vision is poor. We just started on Ocu-Glo supplements and we are going to see our holistic vet next week to see what else we can give him to try to stall this as long as possible. As I'm sure you have all been, I am devastated by this news. I am reading up on dealing with blindness and have my trainer researching it so he can train me. I have two other dogs. Do any of you have multiple dog households and how did your other dogs deal with their pack mate's disability?

Ada Jackson Hello everyone, today Rojito was a little more confused but that is part for the cause. I am trying not make him fill incapable of anything. The only thing I pay attention to is when he is trying to jump in the couch, although he is getting at it, sometimes he is in the wrong spot either too far or by arm of the couch. I tell him you are too far, and I swear he understands because he gets closer. He also can not get in my bed or get off too high and he is a little guy so I am looking for a couple of steps, although, a friend of my told me to go to the craft shop and buy stuff to make it. an idea I am warming up. Tonight I go to Petsmart I have to buy his heartworm medicine at the Baines Hospital there and I take him with me, He loved the place before he went blind and he recognizes the smell because he gets all excited. It has been a month since that horrible day when he woke up and was totally blind, I can not telll you who was more upset him or me. He was scared and crying it broke my heart trust me I was crying too. I think I cried all weekend. My baby had gone blind. Things look much better now we are taking long walks and he is doing really well is hard to believe he is blind but he is. At night when I sit down in my chair in the living room, he comes by me and gives me a ruff and I ask do you want up and he does his little dance and jumps right up and sits by me the rest of the night. He is my sweetheart. On December I have to go to NY I used to leave him with a friend but now that he is blind I think he is coming with me I'll drive and he be my companion, I'll talk to him on the way and he will be my company it is just a 22 hour drive. It will be an adventure for him and me.
