Erin Devine My Romeo is an American Bulldog. He will be 7 in May. I just found out two days ago that he is blind, and has been going blind for probably the last 3 months. It's been rapidly progressive. His blood work shows that he is healthy otherwise. His eyes also look healthy and bright. I'm taking him to a clinic on Friday, where he has an appointment with a neurologist and opthomologist. I'll follow up with the diagnosis; will be great to get some feedback. I'm devastated, but determined for him to live a happy, safe life despite his disability!

Jennifer Scheduled the operation for Monday for my baby to have her eye removed. I know she will feel better, but I am freaking out on the inside.

Gordon I have a miniature poodle that is almost completely blind now, and also deaf. Buffy is a rescue dog, we (my wife Pam and I) aren't sure how old she is for sure but probably 12+. When we went to the rescue shelter to look for a small dog, for some reason Pam was really attracted to Buffy, and when we got home she kept talking about the little poodle there and how much she liked her. I didn't realize how serious she was until she said she was going back to the shelter and get that dog. I couldn't remember that much about the dog but I said I didn't care because I figured it would be her dog anyway. Pam was told that Buffy had some tooth decay problems, but other than that she was in good health. We had almost 2/3 rds of her teeth pulled, and the remaining teeth aren't in very good shape. Anyway, when Pam came home with her, she put her in my lap and she basically has never left. I've never had a dog latch onto me like that, even if Pam is holding her, she is trying to get to me to hold her. I know she has been abused, and probably in a cage most of her life. Our vet thinks she might have been a show dog at one time because of the way her tail is docked, a tattoo marking, and worst of all her eyes have been nicked so many times from grooming. ....I need help dealing with some things now that she is almost blind. First, she has always gone potty outside, but now she is clueless where she is, and how to get back to the door. I think I would like to get her to potty inside in a box or something and I wonder if anyone might have any suggestions on how to do this.
